The Center for Kohanim

DNA
& Tradition. By comparisons
of DNA patterns, historical origins
and movements of peoples can be trace. The Y chromosomes of males
is passed from father to their son with very little change from
generation to generation. All Kohanim are all direct male ancestor
of the brother of Moses - Aharon. A very high percentage of them
today shares a common set of Y markers. Beside the Y chromosome,
there is Mitrochondrial DNA which is passed from mothers to all
their childrens and can be used to trace maternal lineages.
