Sachs is hostess of a public access television show Tracing Your Family Roots which is currently in its sixth year of production.

Expert on Judeo-German
After spending many years trying to find out about the language, Sachs found out that very few people could read the type of writing and language used. She has given several lectures on how to read a language writen in Hebrew script letters.

     Genealogist
Sachs has served as president of the local Jewish Genealogy Society of Greater Washington and served for seven years on board International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies, including one year as secretary. She began the "cemetery project" which collected information on as over 20,000 Jewish cemeteries around the world, and indexed over 650,000 names of burials in some of these cemeteries.

Retired Professor
Associate Professor Sachs taught Computer Information Systems at Northern Virginia Community College for 23 years before retiring a few years ago. She was co-author of the textbook Introduction to Computer System Architecture.
